Fox News: The GOP Propaganda Machine

Fox News: The GOP Propaganda Machine and the Death Rattle of the Right

These are desperate political times for those unaccustomed to desperate political times.

The GOP and conservative factions are reeling from what is amounting to a good old-fashioned ass whuppin’ next month in the general elections. From the Senate to the House to the Presidency, it appears that the angry citizen rabble has had enough of Republican Party rule for the time being.

But for conservatives, losing is not an option. They do not go gently into any good night. When you’ve held the reigns of authority for so long and smashed them like a truncheon upon the heads of the poor and disenfranchised, you get a sadist’s taste for control, power and the blood of the innocent.

The smart play is to, of course, let the Democrats take over this fiasco for at least the next four years. Keep a diligent watch and blame them for every possible repercussion and negative fallout that occurs within the term. Then make the fresh power grab in 2012 when things will still suck. The public’s memory is so embarrassingly short, they will have completely forgotten there ever was a guy named Bush in the White House or that the poor victimized Republicans ever controlled anything, ever, in this liberally induced, fucked up free-for-all in which we now exist. Why did those Democrats want to go into Iraq in the first place? That’s a good looking question!

These rightist egomaniacs cannot even settle for that. They have proven they will do anything to maintain control. No bar is too low, no ploy too insidious, no statement too outrageous. Their cognitive dissonance (and ability to lie shamelessly with a straight face) is astounding. They need their power feed. Where’s the trough? Get out of my way wetback, I wasn’t done eating from that!

So with precious few days left until the election, the GOP propaganda war machine has kicked into high gear. It started with a clarion call from the Death Star Master himself, Karl Rove, who warned that, if held today, the election would not be winnable for the Republican Party.

Resident bully and dullard Bill O’Reilly, when not screaming blame at a guest for the stock market collapse (Ooh, he must have lost a ton of money!) has continually called out Obama’s economic plan as “Socialism” and “wealth redistribution” to anyone who can still stomach listening to him.

The anorexic harpy, Ann Coulter, was more shrill and unconvincing than usual when she blamed the entire mortgage crisis not on the predatory lenders or the Caucasian greed mongers who head the companies, but on the niggers, spics, immigrants, and the remainder of the deadbeat poor who foolishly believed they could own a home too. She didn’t use those epithets (the blanket “minorities” will do), but you didn’t have to be David Duke to catch her drift.

Last and always loyal, the idiotic modern-day Tory that is Sean Hannity began beating his tired old terrorist/unpatriotic drum again with an expose last week on Barack Obama’s ties to William Ayres and Jeremiah Wright. To prove this point he had an “internet journalist” on the show named Andy Martin whose unfounded claims of Obama being a Muslim and leftist radical went unchallenged by Hannity, despite the fact that Martin is a renowned anti-Semite, a serial litigant and a major tool.

The reemergence of the Ayres/Wright controversies are unlikely to find a foothold amidst the financial concerns of a frightened nation and Hannity will again have to circle the wagons and reemploy the “Name me one accomplishment Obama has made in the Senate” argument that also fell flat months ago. A tactic that will be too little too late to derail an unflappable, on-message Obama campaign that is beginning to look unstoppable.

The Crash-prone Pilot and his running mate, Peggy Hill, are unlikely to make much of a difference now except to toss rotting carrion to the hate jackals and bring out the same unenergized, uneducated, bigoted, misinformed fear sheep and Jesus freaks to the polls. The same mouth-breathers who still think “W.” was a grand idea and that the United States can never, ever be wrong. Their only direction is backward, and America cannot afford to return there.

By the way, if Sean Hannity, or any other conservative troll, ever does approach you with the “Obama accomplishment” question, simply grin, pat them on the head and tell them that Barack Obama has done something that no Republican has ever achieved.

Keep a Clinton out of the White House.

Funny notes, and they really do underscore what a philosophically weak player McCain is...kind makes one wonder how the BO would have fared against one of the first string. With respect to Ayers, we can only muse at the fun the media and selectively outraged libs would have had if Timothy McVeigh had held a fundraiser for Johnny Mac.

As for Anne the Babe, may we not ask: is it derogatory to explicitly name or describe a group that disproportionately receives a certain benefit? Is that not in the same line of thinking that has the TSA geniuses occasionally shakedown a white octogenarian while a man of Arabic descent looks on? And since when is it NOT foolish to believe one can own something that one cannot afford? Poor Anne suffers from the same poisoning that afflicted Goldwater, Reagan, Bork and Thomas, Qualyle, and now Palin..She is guilty of whatever a rabid liberal wishes, and no supporting evidence is required. The Chosen One can publicly call for wealth redistribution, and his supporters are OUTRAGED when his own words indict him as a socialist. But the thought police of the left need but imagine Coulter to have thought the N-word, and there you have it: Guilty!

Yes, a rally where McCain celebrated McVeigh's killing of 168 Americans, injuring another 800, where Ayres killed no one.
Ayres is an American hero; a man who protested an illegal genocide by the U.S. Government toward the people of Vietnam. It takes a true patriot to go to the mat when his country is behaving like a rogue nation. Most of us sit around and eat Cheetos, pretending its not really happening in our names. He and his people set bombs off in symbolic, unmanned buildings for six years- and never killed a soul. Dodged the Fascistic U.S. FBI and Government of the time and ended up being released because that very same government was so lawless in arresting members of the Weather Underground that they blew any chance of bringing them to trial.
Ayres walked because the very people and bureaucracy he was fighting proved themselves to be as corrupt as he contended. And the U.S. Government who backed the ridiculous war in Vietnam was guiltier of more severe crimes than any small citizen protester.

“Is that not in the same line of thinking that has the TSA geniuses occasionally shakedown a white octogenarian while a man of Arabic descent looks on?”

So you buy into racial profiling? Really? And you call yourself an American?
Are you comfortable with a country wherein you could stand in a boarding line at an airport where all the "Arab" looking people were taken aside, harassed, frisked, and questioned? While the other "Americans" stood and watched?
Is that sort of policing or security very different than what black people went through forty years ago in the American south and still suffer somewhat to this day? Presumptions of guilt due to ethnicity?
Let us imagine that events have turned, and the U.S. now has an attitude about middle-aged white men with moustaches who look like gay male porn stars from the ‘70s. Would you be willing to give up your freedoms for the benefit of us all? Would you abide being singled out due to your appearance? Where does that rationale end? Attire? Hairstyle? Beady eyes? Political identity perhaps?

"Since when is it NOT foolish to believe one can own something that one cannot afford?"

It is always foolish. I would, however, look at the white social climbers here for an insight into the real problem, who felt their means allowed them to want a $450,000+ home when their incomes spoke more to $250,000 homes or less. But, after all, they're white. What could happen or go wrong?

“Poor Anne suffers from the same poisoning that afflicted Goldwater, Reagan, Bork and Thomas, Quayle, and now Palin.”

Yes, Conservatism. It's a disease. A debilitating, brain-rotting disease, much like untreated syphilis. It makes one think they are better than others due to station.
Oh my god, the poor put upon white people. The horrors you must suffer at the hands of the… who is it again? The pain you must feel while controlling things. Power and wealth can’t be enviable positions to hold. It must be so hard, you know, that burden of omnipotence and judgment. I honestly don’t know how you can give so much, with so little payback or appreciation for your benevolent reign.

“The thought police of the left need but imagine Coulter to have thought the N-word, and there you have it: Guilty!”

Thought police indeed. Ann need never say “nigger”. It’s an easy out for her. It is implicit in her tone. And her audience (along with Limbaugh’s) understands the nod and wink. My point was clear and valid. She only need insinuate it through her blaming of the entire financial crisis on those without the means to defend themselves.
As always: the rape is the woman’s fault, the loss of jobs- the goddamn wetbacks, the hanging- one uppity nigger.

Say what Fitzy, let’s look at Ann Coulter’s misunderstood attempts at racial harmony:

“There is one sort of type of criminal that a public humiliation might work particularly well with are the juvenile delinquents, a lot of whom consider it a badge of honor to be sent to juvenile detention. And it might not be such a cool thing in the Hood to be flogged publicly.”

“Large-breasted, slightly cocoa women with idealized Caucasian features finally have a chance in Hollywood.”

“If I were czar of the universe, I would say that a private organization can do whatever it wants to, and, yes, it can discriminate on the base of race.”

“And manifestly, white men have no political power in modern America. They just rush in to save us when the nation is attacked.”

“We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity.”

“They could use flying carpets.”

“I think our motto should be, post-9-11: raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.” “I believe our motto should be after 9/11: Jihad monkey talks tough; jihad monkey takes the consequences. Sorry, I realize that's offensive. How about ‘camel jockey’? What? Now what’d I say? Boy, you tent merchants sure are touchy. Grow up, would you?”

“Banks were encouraged to consider nontraditional measures of credit-worthiness, such as having a good jump shot or having a missing child named 'Caylee’."

“The Indians were savages… they were nomads, scalping people… we don't eat people… we don't engage in human sacrifice.”

Would you like some examples of Limbaugh’s harmony now or would you simply prefer excerpts from "The Clansman"?
